Our startup is building a secure and accessible FinTech ecosystem that empowers individuals, NGOs, and institutions to move money efficiently.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a senior accountant to join our team and play a key role in managing our financial operations.
This position is both analytical and detail-oriented in nature, requiring strong financial discipline and the ability to manage complex, high-volume transaction environments within a fast-paced FinTech ecosystem.
We expect the candidate to be proactive, adaptable, and result-oriented. To be successful, you will have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to ensure accuracy and control across digital payment flows while working closely with cross-functional teams in product, operations, and technology to maintain financial integrity across the platform.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial reporting, general ledger management, and month/year-end closing processes
- Manage high-volume transaction reconciliations across platforms, banks, and payment gateways
- Monitor and record multiple revenue streams, including fees, subscriptions, and agent commissions
- Handle accounts payable, expenses, vendor payments, and agent network settlements
- Manage cash flow, bank accounts, and ensure accurate financial tracking and liquidity control
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal controls, and support audit processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, operations, and technology) to ensure accurate financial data flow
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 4–6 years of accounting experience (FinTech, banking, or financial services preferred)
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliation, and revenue recognition
- Experience with high-volume digital transaction environments
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Fluency in Arabic and working knowledge of English
Nice to have
- Experience in FinTech, digital payments, remittances, or financial platforms
- Familiarity with payment gateways, digital wallets, and settlement systems
- Experience with ERP systems (Odoo, SAP, or similar)
- Professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, CMA)
